The Edinburgh Mela Fashion show is now well underway with rehearsals starting on Wednesday 14th July in Edinburgh. The Glasgow group are already in rehearsal and working hard to produce a spectacular show on Sunday 8th August. The models well be well used to walking the cat-walk by then with a performance taking place at the Newcastle Mela the weekend before. More for information on the Fashion Show click here.

Edinburgh Mela Call for Local Artists
The Edinburgh Mela is a vibrant, multi-cultural summer festival which delivers a mix of amazing music, dance and drama – with artists from all over the world including chart-topping musicians such as Panjabi Hit Squad, Imran Khan, Tigerstyle and Bhangra star Mona Singh as well as showcasing local, home-grown artists.
For the 2010 festival we are putting out a call for grassroots,community artists. This is a fantastic opportunity to share your talent and to perform in front of audiences at an international festival . Please note that there are no fees payable for these performances, although expenses may be covered and will be decided on an individual basis .
If you are any type of artist based in central Scotland and would like to perform at this year’s Mela please email us for an application form at the details below. Applications must be received by Mon 24 May and will be selected by community members of the Mela Programming Forum.
